I spend a lot of my time working on the development and growth of young bands. The second these bands reach a certain level of success where they are known outside of Texas, it’s always the best feeling. In the past I have helped bands like Memphis May Fire, In Fear & Faith, Ivoryline, Red Car Wire, and more break out of Texas and onto the national scene in a big way. Lately I have been working with a great team of people on a group of young bands we all believe in.
A few weeks ago one of my dudes, JD Dunlap saw that I was looking for a new band to work with that was more than just a “development and growth” level band, a band that was already there and I would have some proving to do to get them to want to work with me. He suggested a band from San Antonio called Through Arteries.
At first listen, I knew this band had something special and I knew that they were going to be a hot band, really quick. The first thing I did was get them to send me an advance copy of their new EP “This Is Just The Beginning…” to me. Naturally, I sent it around to my team, and needless to say, everyone freaked out a little. I spoke to the band about joining Evolve Management and The Phoenix Agency for booking and they were stoked on it, with very little hesitation. Finding a band I was absolutely stoked on and having them already know all about what I do was such a great feeling.
In the past few weeks, we have gotten the band featured on Alternative Press’ website for an EP stream, their music video has been released and is close to 20,000 views in less than two weeks, their YouTube channel has passed over 111,000 streams thanks to the music video and release of the EP, and their EP came out today and is currently climbing the Top 200 Rock Chart on iTunes at around #150!
All of my team is backing me on this band and big things are about to happen. I am so excited for the band and for my Evolve and Phoenix Agency team.
If you live in Dallas you can see them Friday at Hailey’s in Denton (event info) or June 2nd in Frisco, TX with Crown The Empire and more (event info).
It means the world to me all the support and help I have received on this band, I really hope all of you will continue supporting them, buy the EP, share the video, everything you can.
This is just the beginning…

Monday at 1PM tickets went on sale for a “secret” AT THE DRIVE-IN show at Trees and at 1:03PM it sold out. Last night I had the pleasure of catching the show! It was unreal. So great to see this band after all these years. They broke up 11 years ago before I even went to my first concert, I never thought I would be able to see them play.

Where’s The Band? is a tour featuring solo acoustic performances by the frontmen of successful rock groups. On the 2012 edition: Ace Enders (of The Early November), Matt Pryor (of The Get Up Kids), Chris Conley (of Saves The Day), Anthony Raneri (of Bayside) and Evan Weiss (of Into It. Over It.) will cross the country for a run of headline shows, sharing the van and, perhaps, sharing the stage with each other for an intimate evening.
